Trees for the Future (TREES) is a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization based in Maryland. It is an agroforestry resource center helping people in developing countries improve their rural livelihoods through the introduction of environmentally sustainable land management projects focused on beneficial tree planting. Since 1988, Trees for the Future has helped thousands of communities in Central America, Africa, and Asia improve their livelihoods and their environment by planting nearly 65 million trees.

Since 2003, Trees for the Future has been working with rural communities in Haiti to develop tree planting activities to revitalize degraded lands. Currently, TREES is assisting communities along the Arcadine coast, Medor, and Gonaïves to plant over 1.5 million trees annually.

Yéle Haiti is a grassroots movement inspiring change in Haiti through programs in education, sports, the arts and environment. Its community service programs include food distribution and mobilizing emergency relief. Yéle Haiti focuses global attention on Haiti, with an emphasis on outreach through schools, colleges and universities throughout the US and Canada. Musician, producer, humanitarian, and Haiti’s Goodwill Ambassador Wyclef Jean founded Yéle Haiti in 2005.

A member of Japan’s domestic forest protection organization, Green Network (G-Net) is a Non-profit Organization (NPO) focused on desertification prevention and desert greening in the Horqin Desert in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China . The NPO works to educate the local government and communities on the effects of desertification and to empower them to be responsible for the environment that they live in. Since 2000, G-Net has planted more than 3.5 million trees in the Horqin Desert.
